Losing Control: 3 Things to Do to Manifest God’s Power

Lately, I’ve been dwelling on what my purpose is. My roles generically lend to the broader purposes of my life, but the matters of God’s planned destiny and the exact details he wants to manifest will not come without intentionally sowing seeds.

Boldness, Bravery, Authenticity

Have you been wondering the purpose of your life lately? Specifically:

  • Regarding boldness, have you lacked the enthusiasm for living passionately for Jesus?
  • Regarding bravery, have you unwittingly allowed fear to creep into your life and dictate your reactions?
  • Do you have moments where you are wondering where God is and doubting your authenticity as a Christian?

Like you, I’ve wondered these things quite a bit. For instance, if I can live through life’s stream of flow on autopilot, where is the power of the Living God in me?

To Be and Not To Do

There are three things we must be (and not really ‘do’ per se) if we want to see God’s power revive us:

  1. Be bold – take the next step of faith. Give God your ‘yes’ to the thing he is calling you to at this very moment.
  2. Be brave – stop looking to the left or right to compare and dare to take the responsibility to trust God.
  3. Be real – starting with repenting, being pure in heart, having an authentic attitude, be honest with yourself and God first, then sharing what God lays on your heart from that humble heart attitude.

Guys, it’s a complete calibration when we line back up with God. When we take that break, stop striving in this moment, and tune our heart to hear from our Creator, the Creator then reveals the freedom, treasures, wisdom, and powerful benefits in him.

Pray It Out

Will you turn with me to the Holy Spirit in this minute and acknowledge we need to repent of our stranglehold of control on our life? Will you join in releasing control to release God’s power through yielding to him instead?

Almighty Father, Exceptional Lord,

Forgive me. Forgive me for the control I yearn for. Deliver me from the methods and religious tendencies. I turn to you. Help me be bold in my step forward to what you’re calling me to obey you in. Help me be brave to face the challenges that come with being bold. And help me be real with myself, honest with you, and transparent with others. Through my intentional following, I yield to your Holy Spirit to powerfully flow through my heart out of your activity in my life.

In Jesus’ name, according to your will, amen.

Stay bold, brave, and real,

Katie
