A Glimpse of Alzheimer’s Disease



Alzheimer’s disease is a neurodegenerative disease and a form of dementia causing problems with brain function including memory, cognition and behaviour. This video will provide a brief showcase of the mechanisms, treatment and preventative measures of the disease. Dr. Margaret Fahnestock, a Professor from the Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences department at McMaster University, also provides insight on Alzheimer’s disease. This video was created by fourth year McMaster students: Kosalan Akilan, Justin Lu, Helen Kim, Tosin Tomiwa and Nabeelah Khan for McMaster’s Demystifying Medicine seminar series.
