The diagnosis process of dementia or Alzheimer’s is very detailed conducting a physical, understanding the patient’s history, cognitive screening, lab work and imaging, and accounts from loved ones and caregivers. Providers work to determine if there are other causes of memory loss like vitamin deficiencies, stroke, or other illnesses that could be contributing to memory loss.
