Most people use dementia and Alzheimer’s interchangeably but doctors don’t. There’s a clinically important distinction between the two that changes how we understand brain disease, diagnosis, and what a patient may actually be facing. Alzheimer’s disease is only one piece of a much larger picture, and confusing the two can lead to real gaps in awareness and early recognition.
