An AHP Dementia Webinar

As an allied health professional (AHP) dementia community we have developed a National AHP Dementia Webinar series where we share practice and connect people to support. In 2025, we moved all the webinars to be delivered on the Microsoft teams’ platform.

In our AHP Dementia webinar in April 2025, people joined us to hear how allied health professionals from podiatry, physiotherapy and occupational therapy in Scotland have been working to improve access and raise awareness of how their services and skills can support people to live well with dementia. Our guest presenters were:

  • Liz Oakley, Podiatrist, NHS Tayside
  • Nicola Lauchlan,Physiotherapist, NHS Ayrshire and Arran
  • Gail Hogg,Occupational therapist, NHS Fife

You can WATCH AGAIN; the webinar link is here

You can view all our AHP Dementia webinars here

We invite our audience to share something they liked about today’s webinar and here are a selection of the replies

  • Varied speakers with short interactive presentations
  • The journey through dementia case study and examples
  • I really appreciated how it highlighted how multiple AHP’s can make a different impact to someone’s life
  • I liked hearing about the Journeying through dementia programme offered by the mental health occupational therapy team in NHS Fife.
  • I liked the poll questions at the start of Nicola’s slides.
  • I found the polls useful to engage with the subject.

If you joined us live at the AHP dementia webinar session or you are listening again to the recording,  we would encourage you to take a few minutes and share with us your thoughts. Simply click the link to comment and let us know – https://forms.office.com/e/LZdT9GjvD8

  • What did you like?
  • Even better if……?
  • What are you planning or have already done next with what you heard?

We would love to hear from you and feeding back provides a positive contribution to transforming the support available in Scotland available to people living with dementia.
