Senator Pamela Wallin says ‘yes’. Wallin’s parents died a week apart from each other, from debilitating diseases. It made her angry to watch her parents depart in such difficult ways, and not on their own terms. Now, she’s devoted to fighting for the right to request MAID ahead of diminished cognitive functioning from medical conditions l such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.
