#Alzheimer’s disease is commonly associated with aging, and the majority of cases are diagnosed in people over the age of 65.
Albeit rarely, #Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease (EOAD), also known as #young-onset Alzheimer’s disease, is a form of Alzheimer that affects people under the age of 65,.
The case of the Chinese male teenager aged 19-year-old is particularly unusual because it falls outside the typical age range for EOAD, making him the youngest person to be diagnosed with Alz.
The male teenager began experiencing memory decline around the age of 17.
The teenager did not have a known family history of the disease, and genetic testing did not reveal any of the known mutations associated with #Alzheimer’s.
It is important to note that memory decline and cognitive impairment can be caused by a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors.
The study was published in the Journal of #Alzheimer’s Disease.
